  By 1910, the #10 Military District Training Camp was established at Sewell Camp, (name changed to Camp Hughes in 1915). In the first year, 1,472 officers and men as well as 1,042 horses participated during a 12-day camp. #11 Service Company, CASC, supported this training. In 1913, the first historical use of motor transport by the CASC in Winnipeg occurred when #18 Service Company rented two trucks to transport feed to the horses throughout the camp. In 1916, at the midpoint of the First World War, Camp Hughes was supported by #11, #18 and #20 Service Companies of the Canadian Army Service Corps as well as the #1 Overseas Training Depot (OTD). The mech transport section consisted of 12 trucks, four of which needed custom bodies built on their chassis, plus 6 touring cars.

Willys (MB), ¼ -ton, 4 x 4, Utility Truck Jeep

The Willys MB (1941-1945) was one of the earliest mass-produced military vehicles in the United States. With “world-famous” Jeep, Willys MB, and Ford GPW models, it quickly became ubiquitous, making it one of the most successful military vehicles ever manufactured for the war. During World War II, Willys produced 363,000 Jeeps and Ford produced 280,000.
