The MLVW or Medium Logistics Vehicle Wheeled was in service with Canadian armed forces. It was based on the obsolete US M35 cargo truck design, dating back to the 1950s. However, the Canadian version includes many modifications. The MLVW entered service in 1982. Over 2,700 of these trucks had been license-produced by Bombardier.

This general utility truck was a backbone of the Canadian logistical support fleet and was used for different purposes. Starting in 2010, 1,300 Navistar units replaced part of the MLVW fleet. In July 2015, Canada awarded the MSVS SMP contract to Mack Trucks and completed delivery by 2018.

The Light Support Vehicle Wheeled (LSVW) is used by all combat arms and logistical units in urban and cross-country operations. It provides administration and logistic support to Units and Brigades.

The LSVW is a four-wheel-drive truck with a 3,200-mm wheel base, powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine. It is equipped to accommodate add-on armour, and a variety of weapons.
