Uniform, CADPAT Camouflage

Shown at left is a contemporary CADPAT uniform, with a terrain woodland, computer-generated, digital camouflage pattern and black combat boots. CADPAT, issued in 1997 to the Canadian Armed Forces, was the first digital camouflage pattern to be used operationally. The pattern became fully standardized within the Canadian Armed Forces by 2002 completely replacing the olive-drab operational uniforms formerly used.

Pattern variations:

The temperate woodland pattern (TW) is designed for use in forest and grassland.

The arid regions pattern (AR) is designed for use in desert, near desert, and savannah conditions, incorporating three shades of brown.

Multi-terrain pattern, selected in 2021, is designed to blend into the widest possible range of environments and is planned by 2027 to serve as the day-to-day working uniform of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The winter operations (WO) pattern was created for snow-covered or mixed woodland and snowy terrain.
