RCASC, 23 CDN TPT COY – Crossing Imjin River (1952)

The RCASC Transport Companies were equipped with American GMC, 2½ ton, 6×6 vehicles to transport cargo and troops during the Korean war. The transport role was to provide supplies for front-line troops.

RCASC units in Korea (1950–1955)

No. 54 Canadian Transport Company (4 May 1951 – 11 April 52);

No. 23 Transport Company (10 April 1952 – 27 March 1953);

No. 56 Transport Company (22 March 1953 – 15 April 1954); and

No. 3 Transport Company (26 March 1954 – 27 November 1954).

The No. 56 Transport Company moved from Winnipeg to Calgary in 1967 and became part of the Transport Company of #1 Service Battalion in 1968.
