Married 01 May 1931 to Evelyn Mary Dixon, one son, William Douglas; one daughter, Barbara Maxine.

Military service: William Forrester joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps [RCASC] on 05 September 1940. He served in the United Kingdom and in Continental Europe and was awarded a “Mentioned in Dispatches” on 21 June 1945 for distinguished service (To be mentioned in dispatches, MiD describes a member of the armed forces whose name appears in an official report written by a superior officer and sent to the high command, in which their gallant or meritorious action in the face of the enemy is described.). He discharged with the rank of Sergeant in Winnipeg on 07 June 1945.

William returned to work at Eaton’s as a printer post war and moved to Toronto when the Southam Murray publishers took over the printing operation of Eaton’s. He retired in 1970 after more than 25 years in the printing business and return to Winnipeg. He is buried at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
