This holster was made by Canadian manufacturer Zephyr Loom and Textile. Larger than the standard holster, and of a more rounded appearance, it was likely designed to fit the .455 Webley, (Colt 1911A1) and Browning 1935 pistol designs as well as the standard service issue .38 pistol.

.455 Webley pistol
The pistol was sold to the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Navy during World War I. During the Second World War, the 1911A1 was made by a number of manufacturers including Colt, Remington-Rand, Ithaca, Union Switch and Signal, and Singer. Guns produced during the WWII period are packetized (a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion) and feature checkered brown plastic grips.
