2 – USSR forces military award 2nd and 3rd class specialist 1950.

Some of the awards, decorations, and orders were discontinued after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, while others are still issued by the Russian Federation as of 2021. A wide range of Soviet awards and decorations cover the period of history from 1917 to 1991.

In 1930 the Soviet Union established the Order of the Red Star and awarded its insignia to Red Army and Soviet Navy personnel for “exceptional “service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union in both war and peace. In Soviet history, the red star symbolized the Red Army and military service as opposed to the hammer and sickle, which symbolized peaceful labour. Badges and Pins, Soviet - #4 1-12 - Copy4. – Red gorget patches (a distinguishing trimming on an officer’s shoulder) with vintage 1970 military pin. Generals, Brigadiers and Colonels wear gorget patches, known as red tabs, on the collar. Gorget patches (collar tabs, collar patches) are paired patches of cloth or metal on the collar of a uniform (gorget), used in the military and civil service in some countries. 6. – Soviet army artillery troops collar dogs. Collar badges may be worn as lapel badges on formal uniforms and are often called ‘collar dogs’.

Russian Signal Troops (Russian: Войска связи – Signal Corps) is the specializing signal corps of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces. Signal Troops are an integral part of the Armed Forces.

11. – Soviet fighter pilot wings

Badges and Pins, Soviet - Soviet fighter pilot wings 3rd classThese are original wings issued to award pilots with classification grades- Pilot-1 class, 2-class and 3-class according accumulated flight hours, disciplines performed and general flight experience. Class wings are given to pilots along with a Pilot-Sniper wing and classification of pilot indicated in a special ID book. This is a 1966 pilot badge that was used until the end of the Soviet regime.

12. – Soviet Air Force collar badge

These are emblems on the buttonholes of the Red Army (Air Force). From 1924 to 1935, emblems of yellow and white were worn. In 1943, white birds were introduced for the shoulder straps of the flight crew. From 1936 to 1943 emblems were a golden color.
