Logistics personnel provide the transportation, equipment and supplies for the movement of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and all types and sizes of cargo throughout the world.
The responsibilities of Logistics include:
Procurement.
Warehousing items and material control
Distribution and disposal of military material, equipment, and ammunition
Coordination of food services, postal services, human resource or financial services
The Royal Canadian Logistics Service (RCLS) is a personnel branch of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) which also includes the Administration element. In April 1997, the CF Armed Forces Council incorporated the Personnel Administration Branch into the Logistics Branch.
On October 16, 2018, the Logistics Branch received its “Royal” designation from Queen Elizabeth II becoming the Royal Canadian Logistics Service. The Royal Canadian Army Service Corps transport and supply elements were formally combined with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps to form the Logistics Branch in 1968.
