SUMMARY:Spotlight Documentary Film Awards
DESCRIPTION:The documentary film the Senate produced and launched in 2024 about “Camp Hughes: Prelude to Victory” has received a Silver Award from the Spotlight Documentary Film Awards in the US. The video focuses on the development of Camp Hughes, Manitoba prior to and during the First World War as a military training site where over 38,000 prairie soldiers trained. Many of these soldiers fought overseas in several famous Canadian battles. Many thanks to our collaborators: 47 Filmworks, Phil Dawes, R.P. Singh, Bruce Tascona and Grant Tyler. The video may be viewed on YouTube.\n\n
