SUMMARY:MSSTA PD Day Conference
DESCRIPTION:On 25 October, Erv Gerbrandt, Tim Klumper and Dale Watts attended the Manitoba Social Studies Teachers’ Association Professional Development Day Conference held at Chief Peguis School, 1400 Rothesay. The CSS Museum had a display table, along with about 25 other displayers, with selected museum artifacts. E. Gerbrandt and D. Watts presented on “Honouring Indigenous Veterans”. D. Watts also presented on “Camp Hughes: Prelude to Victory”—a documentary that had been produced by the Service Battalion Senate and launched in February 2024. The overall conference hosted over 215 mostly teacher or student teacher attendees, not including displayers.\n\n \n \n \n \n Shown is the indigenous-focused feature display presented on by Gerbrandt and Watts\n \n \n \n \n \n Camp Hughes Poster\n \n \n\n
